Abha Herur

Abha graduated from the London School of Economics (LSE) in 2014 with a Masters in Accounting and Finance (MSc), prior to which she completed her Bachelors in Economics (BSc) from the University of Bristol in 2013. Post this, she worked as an Analyst on the Stress Testing and Portfolio Management team at Morgan Stanley, London for 18 months followed by another stint of 18 months as an Interest Rate Risk Analyst on the Treasury team at JP Morgan, Mumbai.
 
At Credence, Abha primarily covers the Banking, Oil and Gas and Commodities sectors with a focus on global macroeconomic trends and hypothesis.
 
Apart from this, she enjoys basking in the sun with a good book and coffee, baking and eating breads and desserts, and can be seen burning off said desserts with a game of tennis or a run.
 
Abha will be interning with JP Morgan Markets in the Summer of 2019.

Atharv Saxena

Accepted Answer

Atharv is a 2018 B.Com (H) graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce. He is extremely passionate about social entrepreneurship and case study competitions and even headed the Shri Ram Case Competition. He interned with Way2wealth Brokers Pvt Ltd during his undergrad where he undertook fundamental analysis of IPOs and P/E analysis to study market valuations which gave him a keen interest in markets and investing. At Credence Capital, he follows the FMCG sector with a fundamental analysis approach.
 
Apart from this, he is also a part of the institute basketball team and enjoys reading books.
 
Atharv will intern as a Summer Associate at McKinsey & Company.

Harshit Jain

Accepted Answer

Harshit is a Chartered Accountant and has completed Level II of CFA®. He completed his graduation from H.R. College of Commerce and Economics (Mumbai University) in 2014.
 
As part of the CA course, he undertook an  internship at PKF Sridhar and Santhanam (approx. 7 months), Deloitte Haskins and Sells (approx. 4 months) and Grant Thornton India LLP (approx. 2 years) and was mainly involved in audit and taxation. Post qualification, he joined KPMG in M&A tax department, wherein he was involved in conducting direct tax due diligence, advising clients on regulatory aspect of deals, suggesting restructuring options, and undertaking technical research work in the field of direct tax for the clients.

At Credence Capital, he follows the Oil and Gas sector. Harshit will be interning as an Investment Banking Associate in Avendus Capital. In the spare time, he prefers to read, mostly on a variety of topics or watch cricket.

Question 4

Nihar Agarwal

Accepted Answer

Nihar is a graduate of IIT Roorkee with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, after which he worked for Tata Motors’ fleet maintenance division for 1.5 years in the areas in operational cost cutting, spare part supply chain streamlining and quality check. Post that he shifted to i3 Consulting (a boutique management consulting firm). There he advised Middle Eastern and Indian clients in the fields of private market transactions, turnaround strategy, growth strategy and similar other problem areas.
During his job, he developed an inclination towards equity markets, which he decided to pursue during his tenure at IIM Lucknow by joining Credence Capital. He is passionate about macroeconomics and currently follows the automobile ancillary sector, with a keen interest in specialty chemicals stocks.
 
Nihar will be joining The Boston Consulting Group for a two month internship starting in April 2019.

Samay Shah

Samay graduated from VJTI Mumbai (2015) with a B. Tech. degree in Mechanical Engineering post which he worked at Bank of America for a period of 3 years. He was initially working with the Global Liquidity Risk Management team at the Bank where he developed a keen interest in Banking and Finance. Post his stint in Liquidity Risk, he worked as an Investment Banking Analyst in the FIG (Financial Institutions Group) team. Over the course of his 3 years at Bank of America, Samay cleared all 3 levels of the International CFA® program in the first attempt.
At Credence Capital, Samay primarily follows the Pharmaceutical and Oil & Gas sectors.
Samay is passionate about sports. He has represented VJTI and IIM Lucknow in numerous inter-college football tournaments and keenly follows international football, basketball, cricket and tennis championships.
Samay will be joining Bain & Company for a two month internship starting April 2019.

Sanchit graduated from IIT Delhi in 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Thereafter he joined EY and worked as a Management Consultant for 3 years. The experience at EY gave him the opportunity to work with multiple clients across Chemicals, Paper and Industrial sectors where he provided consulting services on Strategy and Operations assignments.
 
Through multiple engagements in diverse industries, Sanchit has developed an expertise in asset productivity improvement, growth strategy, network design, and market research. He was presented with multiple awards throughout his stint at EY for his performance.
 
He covers the Agriculture and Paper sector in Credence with an interest in the Chemicals sector. A sports enthusiast, he enjoys watching movies and playing Badminton. Sanchit will be joining the Boston Consulting Group for a two-month internship in April 2019.

Simran graduated from Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) in 2016 with a degree in Economics (B.A. Hons). Thereafter, she joined KPMG’s management consulting practice in the strategy and operations division where she advised clients across oil and gas, automobiles and steel sector. During her 2 years with the firm, she developed expertise in market assessment, market entry and procurement related strategies and drew positive client feedbacks. She was acknowledged for her work through multiple awards.
Her keen interest in investing and equity markets led her to join Credence Capital where she covers auto and auto ancillaries and oil and gas sectors. She will be interning with Mckinsey & Co. during April-May 2019. Apart from this, she enjoys playing badminton, travelling to new places and is an enthusiastic debater.

Sumit Goenka

Sumit completed his B.com (Honours) from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata in 2018 with a specialisation in Finance and Accountancy. He has interned at Srei Infrastructure Finance and worked on Capital Markets analysis with a focus on the infrastructure finance segment with respect to Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs). He also worked on pre-IPO investor identification and analysis relating to a subsidiary of Srei.
He is a State level swimmer and is passionate about travelling and photography. He is also interested in blogging and has his own food blog.
 
At Credence Capital, he tracks the Telecom and Auto & Auto Ancillaries sectors for investment opportunities. He also has a keen interest in the global macro-economic scenario and follows its impact on the capital market.
